Olbermann Videos, Transcripts, & More, Plus More Torture Law Info

Please note that this post has many updates relating to my last post from October 20, 2006. These updates include videos, transcripts, and articles regarding Keith Olbermann and his excellent comments from his primetime MSNBC cable TV show, about the death of habeus corpus and 9 out of 10 of The Bill of Rights, and more, as well as more information on the Torture Law, HR 6166.

Note from Vetzine: Update on the topic of my last blog post:

Here's more from the Progressive Independent forum which was posted after my last blog post on Friday, October 20th, regarding if this Torture Law should have been a "Pocket Veto", (not that it matters to the PTB, since they don't follow even their own laws).

UPDATE---CONGRESS NOT IN SESSION
Sun Oct 22, 2006 18:12
205.208.227.31

Just found out that Congress is NOT in session--it closed this session SEPTEMBER 30!!! THEREFORE, per the Constitution, This Bill DIED on September 30!!!

The Military Commissions Act of 2006 cannot be enforced as law BECAUSE it died when Congress's 109th session ended on September 30 due to the campaigning for the upcoming elections of Congressional seats.

When does it reconvene? No one knows other than the 110th Congress will meet on January 3, 2007 (the Constitution was amended from December to January 3 years ago).

SO was this a "test" by the gangstas' to see how the public would react to such a law? IF it was, well, I guess they now know don't they!!!

MILITARY COMMISSIONS ACT OF 2006 IS DEAD, VOIDED, NONENFORCABLE---LAWYERS NEED TO TAKE THIS FROM HERE.
http://disc.server.com/discussion.cgi?disc=149495;...

Please look at OUR Constitution, Arcitle I, Section 7(1):

". . . . . If any Bill shall not be returned by the President WITHIN 10 DAYS (THAT'S TEN!) Sundays excepted, after it shall have been presented to him the Same shall be a Law, in like as if he had signed it, UNLESS the Congress by their Adjournment prevent is Return, in which Case it shall not be a law."

SO, he blantantly stated many times last summer to the news media--both print and tape--that our Consitution was a WORTHLESS piece of paper; SO, to throw it in his face, his sig means crapola, don't ya' think?

He had to have returned it to Congress SIGNED or UNSIGNED w/i 10 days after their having passed it (the Senate passed it 9/28 and the House passed on 9/29 and he should have returned it either signed or unsigned no later than the 11th of October since Congress was in session; IF Congress was NOT considered to be in session then the bill is not law BECAUSE it could not be returned to Congress.

Get it? The key word here is RETURNED to Congress, either signed or unsigned within 10 days of Congress passing the bill.

SO>>>> CHALLANGE THIS!!! Georgie Porgie DID NOT sign nor return this bill in a timely manner (10 days) as scribed by OUR CONSTITUTION, therefore, IT IS NOT LAW!!!!

Go research it---read the Constitution, it's there!!!!!

In response to Reply #6 (see above)

I got that timeline from the US Congress site. It doesn't tell us when Congress adjourned, though.

All of these posts came from here.

Also, I heard on Alex Jones' show a few days ago the following:
A caller asked Alex what he had found out regarding if this law, (HR 6166 - The Military Commissions Act of 2006), was signed by Bush on time, therefore done legally, or not. Alex replied, (I'm paraphrasing here), "we checked into that and found they did it legally." That is the only thing he said before going to break and it has not been mentioned on his show since, that I have heard. I have also seen nothing on his websites regarding this matter. The only thing I have seen on his and other websites are articles debating about whether this new law applies to American citiens, or not. Alex's site insists it does, and some other sites insist it does not. I'd be willing to bet that they will apply it to anyone they please, including American citizens.

Here's another update to this matter which I am posting here on 10/28/06, but notice the original article was posted almost a month ago):

Is That Legal? Where's the ACLU When You Need Them?
which comes from IsThatLegal.org

10/1/06 In commenting on my post about the new Terror/Tribunal legislation extending "unlawful enemy combatant" status to U.S. citizens acting on U.S. soil, it was said, in essence, "so what, Americans always could be UECs" and "so what, American UECs can file for habeas." I never suggested those not to be the case. The objection I have with the T/T act is that UEC status for Americans acting in America has removed them from the criminal justice system -- a scenario foreshadowed in Justice Scalia's dissent in Hamdi.

(MSNBC's Keith)Olbermann: The New Edward Murrow?

Steve Watson / Infowars.net | October 24 2006

"Every act that denies or limits the freedom of the individual in this country costs us the. . . confidence of men and women who aspire to that freedom and independence of which we speak and for which our ancestors fought."
Edward Murrow - 1954

It is no coincidence that Edward Murrow is the number one idol of Keith Olbermann. In these times of great upheaval there is really only one voice in the mainstream media that is speaking the truth and telling it the way it is.

The modern US media is owned and has always been owned by the corporations and big businesses that run America. So it is extremely rare when a figure of honesty and integrity in delivering the news rises to the top over corporate interests and censorship. One such figure was Edward Murrow, who always told it as it was and is most famed for his reports that helped lead to the censure of Senator Joseph McCarthy.

Whilst the Neocon lapdog apologists take pride in the fact that they take their orders directly from the White House, Olbermann, who tips his hat to Murrow by using his trademark "Good Night and Good Luck" tag line, continues to hit the ball out of the park with every special comment he makes.

While Olbermann is busy decrying the destruction of the Bill Of Rights and The Constitution, Bill O'Reilly is busy equating with terrorists those who question the President, then himself saying he would like to blow up bloggers with hand grenades. Hannity is busy telling Democrat voters to stay at home on election day then whining about how the media is conspiring to suppress Republican votes. And Limbaugh is spinning his own spin and calling us "Democrat kooks".

When you expose the crimes of these evildoers, many times you will be targeted by them, and this is evidently happening to Keith Olbermann as you can find by scanning the headlines on this page.

MSNBC TV• Olbermann: 'Beginning of the end of America'
For, on this first full day that the Military Commissions Act is in force, we now face what our ancestors faced, at other times of exaggerated crisis and melodramatic fear-mongering: A government more dangerous to our liberty, than is the enemy it claims to protect us from.
