Spy Phone Surprise ?
Here the Corporate-State Klutz,Declan McCullagh, feigns astonishment at the
"News" of Gvt-Corp spying via cell phone.
"update The FBI appears to have begun using a novel form of electronic surveillance in criminal investigations: remotely activating a mobile phone's microphone and using it to eavesdrop on nearby conversations."
"Novel"? yeah, right, like in Alexander Graham Bell novel.
Only in the fine print does the doughty Declan shyly broach the matter of
of Feds in your "OnStar"
"Surreptitious activation of built-in microphones by the FBI has been done before. A 2003 lawsuit revealed that the FBI was able to surreptitiously turn on the built-in microphones in automotive systems like General Motors' OnStar to snoop on passengers' conversations.
When FBI agents remotely activated the system and were listening in, passengers in the vehicle could not tell that their conversations were being monitored. "
That GM's much ballyhooed "OnStar" is nothing more than a crippled cell phone
crammed in the dash of your Caddy.
Remember the CIA knuckle draggers who were caught in Italy via cell phone? HERE
One of the earliest cases to go public, you will recall is that of OJ Simpson.
Fact is the feds have been trackin n tracin n snoopin n poopin from away back.
Now why doan Ol Declan wont yout to know that? MORE
